G-Shock MRG-B2000SG-1A ‘Shougeki-Maru: Gai’ for 40th Anniversary is limited to 700

To celebrate its 40th Anniversary, G-Shock is releasing the MRG-B2000SG-1A to its flagship MR-G line. The watch is limited to 700 units worldwide and is modeled after the Shougeki-Maru: Gai kabuto helmet, which was specially created for MR-G.

The titanium case undergoes a recrystallization process that gives it a unique texture and rugged look, and a deep-layer hardening process and dark silver arc ion plating are also applied. The bezel is hand-engraved by master metalsmith Masao Kobayashi with a tiger figure and rock-grain relief inspired by the maedate crest of the helmet. The white Durasoft fluoro-rubber band is unusual for an MR-G model and represents the ito odoshi of the helmet, which are the overlaying plates of armor bounded together with white string. Other unique elements are the four front screw heads set with rubies, which are lab grown by Kyocera. A 40th Anniversary plate is affixed to the left side of the case.

The MRG-B2000 series features shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio timekeeping, Bluetooth smartphone link, dual time, stopwatch, timer, and LED light. The MRG-B2000SG-1A measures 54.7 x 49.8 x 16.9 millimeters and weighs 138 grams. As an MR-G model, the watch is made at the Premium Production Line at the Yamagata Casio factory in Japan.
